Feeding fussy eaters can become quite a chore. But a good way to get your kids to eat almost anything, and actually enjoy it, is to get them to help you make it. These fun sandwiches contain protein rich eggs and calcium from cheese, that makes them nutritious and are the perfect healthy breakfast idea for the kids and grown ups. They can be made from ingredients you have in the fridge and are also great fun, because your children can turn them into a work of art!

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of brown bread toasted
  • 1 cheese slice
  • 1 egg
  • 1 sliced tomato
  • 2 black olives sliced
  • ½ carrot sliced
  • 2 peas shelled

Directions

Cook one egg sunny side up. A handy hint to cook perfect rounds is to use a ring on the pan and crack the egg directly inside it.

Cut the slice of cheese into a round shape using the same ring. The edges can make a little snack for your child while they wait for the egg to cook. Put the slice of cheese onto toasted bread, and the egg on the other slice of toast.

Use the sliced olives for eyes, and half a slice of tomato for a smiley mouth.

Serve these as open faced sandwiches along with carrots and boiled peas on side.
